The game should tell you that different vendors = different merchandise, the permits, when you die you lose money, the existence of mutagens and that are chapter specific (if i am not mistaken), the chapter selection screen, the leveling up, even the story setting. This is part of the problem i think that should get adressed. Took my time in chapter as i realised there are side quests worth doing in order to get money and that different ventors sell different things. I finished chapter 2 yesterday and the crab boss was amazing and totally unexpected. Which is kinda sad, cuz that is just forcing games to be more similar and homogenous, with all the same controls and pacing and so forth. It seems in todays landscape if a game is not to your liking, that must make it 'garbage' rather than a difference in taste or preference.
